I studied art at Smolensk State University, Russia for 5 years (1992-1997 ). I used to teach art to secondary school students in Russia.
Moved in Cambridge ( UK ) in 2012 there I re-started painting.
Moved in North Carolina ( USA ) in October 2016.
I prefer to paint in oils and love working in traditional style. I love light and color.

The Art of Vonda Fletcher
Vonda started painting in the late 1970's and continued for nearly 3 decades. Her art reflects her love of life, God, family and friends. Vonda no longer paints today but loves to share her art. She is an amazing woman who is legally blind but still continues to walk herself around the neighborhood she's lived in since 1974 and greet the many neighbors and friends along the way. We hope you enjoy seeing her work and share in her love of life and the many beautiful things that God has created. About the Artist

Mary Helmreich California Watercolors
Her Specialty: Paintings on Commission. Over the last thirty years she's done hundreds: Of houses, cars, boats, pets & people, etc. Also favorite views & personal subjects.

Mary Helmreich was born in 1945 near Boston, Massachusetts.
Her talent was recognized early, when at age nine she won a prize for portraiture, competing against high school students.
At twelve she attended a summer art program at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. In the eleventh grade she studied under Sidney Hurwitz at the De Cordova Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts, and at the Cummington School of the Arts in the Berkshires.
At Bard College New York from 1963-1964 she majored in Sculpture taught by Harvey Fite and Fine Art by Anton Refregier. She continued her studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston from 1964-1965 under the tutelage of Robert Grady and Andreas Feininger.
Toward the end of 1965 she traveled to London and Paris, where she met Gisbert Helmreich at a youth hostel in Place Pigalle. Together they hitchhiked through Europe, North Africa and East Africa. They were married in October 1966 in Burlington, Vermont.
Their son Stefan Helmreich and his wife Heather Paxson are both anthropologists at MIT.
From 1966 until the summer of 1981 they made their home in Boston, with a short sojourn to Vienna in 1968.
For many years Mary concentrated on the human form, drawing from life, first with a Boston group and then with the Winchester Studio Guild, assisted by professor emeritus King Coffin.
In 1969 her husband opened the Boston Chess Studio on Newbury Street, which became a focal point for the chess community during the Bobby Fischer era. Newbury Street, being the center of the New England art scene, inspired Mary to display her pencil drawings, acrylics and watercolor paintings.
After an exploratory cross-country trip in 1981, she and her family decided to move to San Diego, where they established residence in the community of Olivenhain in Encinitas. By that time watercolor had become her favorite medium.
She has been a member of several art organizations and has entered juried art shows receiving many awards & prizes.
Mary now paints cityscapes, landscapes, historical buildings and more intimate views of the area. All her paintings, including commissions, are carried out in the representational manner, using archival materials.

The beauty of Bristol from my eyes.

 

Description

This is a large painting worked in acrylic paint on canvas. I worked from various sketches from my sketch book and pictures which I had taken. It is of many images of Bristol put together to form one painting. It took me a long time to do this one because it came from the heart. It is my City. Where I was born and grew up. It is worked in what I call my Illustrative style. I did a sketch on canvas of the various images, changing positions many times, and worked several layers of each colour of paint, taking time to decide on what colours were right for the images and where everything would go. In its correct place. I then worked around each image with black acrylic pen to bring the painting to life.

I am a multi media artist working on many subjects. Having recently shut my business in St. Nicholas Market Bristol after 10 years, I now work from home in my studio. I also take commissions. I am originally from Long Beach, California and enjoy sketching with watercolor. My love of sketching was re-awakened while living in Germany for 15 years, so much of my artwork reflects European sights and places where I have traveled.

Farm With Three Pines And Cows

This original acrylic painting was quite large...60" x 30" on canvas. It depicts a scene that I encountered in my area, but I painted it in a very precise, geometric style, with bright bold colors. This may have been the most time consuming painting that I ever did.

Bruce Bodden
I was a Fine Arts Major at UW-Oshkosh, where I had a double emphasis: Drawing and Applied Design. The drawings that I did were mostly charcoals or oil pastels. Applied or Functional Design was building wooden furniture. I enjoyed Ceramics as well. My pots and vases that I threw on the wheel looked good and were nicely glazed, but they were very fat at the bottom...the professor said that the cats couldn't tip them over. I wanted to major in something that I could do after school anyway, and you don't need much equipment for drawing.

After college I worked in the furniture restoration field, so I still had access to a woodworking shop. I currently work in an antique store in the restoration department, and so I still have access to more tools than I can have at home.

I like to do oil pastels, acrylic paintings, furniture and marquetry. And lately, all those things are starting to combine together in the same piece. Since I have the skills to do woodworking, I prefer to make all of my frames for my work, sometimes I even enjoy making frames more than the artwork itself.

I did art shows, mostly in Wisconsin, for nine years, but stopped when I started my current job. However, I did an art show this summer, and plan on doing more in future years. I never stopped making my art, as it is my main recreation outside of work
