I prefer my painting to be a development of ideas rather than static images and often use different styles to achieve this. The life that goes on around me, the places I’ve been, or the times I’ve lived through are reflected in my paintings, and my work has always helped me refine self awareness, and provided an outlet for expression

Artist Statement
I am fascinated by the color, light patterns, and variety found in nature–particularly with respect to water lilies. One can spend a life time and never come close to capturing the beauty and tranquility found in the natural world. I feel blessed to have the time to look so deeply into the life around me and hope to share that feeling with you through my paintings.

About the Artist

Shomi
As an artist deeply connected to the natural beauty surrounding my home in California, I find inspiration in the everyday moments that many overlook. My work focuses on capturing the energy and emotion of rural life, blending human connection with the animals and landscapes that shape my world. Each piece I create tells a story, whether it's the grace of a trotting horse or the calm of open rolling hills.

Although I use AI as a tool in my artistic process, my work remains deeply personal. The AI helps bring my vision to life, allowing me to express the essence of the scenes I witness daily. Every stroke and color choice is intentional, reflecting my perspective and love for the environment that surrounds me. My goal is to evoke a sense of tranquility and movement, connecting viewers to the beauty of art.

Sailboat At Kimberly Point-Abstract

This is the second painting in a series of a scene from a park in Neenah, Wisconsin called Kimberly Point...near the Neenah Lighthouse. This version was more abstract than the first itineration. I used a pallet knife to lay down textures and then cleaned it up with a brush.

About the Artist

Bruce Bodden
I was a Fine Arts Major at UW-Oshkosh, where I had a double emphasis: Drawing and Applied Design. The drawings that I did were mostly charcoals or oil pastels. Applied or Functional Design was building wooden furniture. I enjoyed Ceramics as well. My pots and vases that I threw on the wheel looked good and were nicely glazed, but they were very fat at the bottom...the professor said that the cats couldn't tip them over. I wanted to major in something that I could do after school anyway, and you don't need much equipment for drawing.

After college I worked in the furniture restoration field, so I still had access to a woodworking shop. I currently work in an antique store in the restoration department, and so I still have access to more tools than I can have at home.

I like to do oil pastels, acrylic paintings, furniture and marquetry. And lately, all those things are starting to combine together in the same piece. Since I have the skills to do woodworking, I prefer to make all of my frames for my work, sometimes I even enjoy making frames more than the artwork itself.

I did art shows, mostly in Wisconsin, for nine years, but stopped when I started my current job. However, I did an art show this summer, and plan on doing more in future years. I never stopped making my art, as it is my main recreation outside of work.

Cascading Carnations

I created this oil painting on canvas, 24"x24"

Japanese lanterns glow tenderly, magically
out of a nighttime backdrop.
A gentle, enchanting mood is set with
John Singer Sargent’s painting
“Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose” placed as the
“wallpaper” for this still life of cascading carnations,
brightly lit and nearly glowing themselves,
with waves of glistening ribbons

pouring down ever so gently.

A KITE IN THE SKY / TWO ELEMENTS

The artwork is about the ever-wonderful summertime at the seaside, filled with the sounds of waves and wind, glorious sunshine, the blissful feeling of freedom and skies full of colours and beautiful kites that always inspire us ...

The taut lines are stretched towards the kite as if connecting two great elements - The Air and The Water... The kite has already been picked up by the wind... A little more, and it will rush the surfer along the ocean sparkling from the sun's glare. But it’s not the sliding itself that fascinates daredevils, it is the delight of jumping and soaring in the air above the waves. The more skillfully kite surfers control the kite, the higher the wind force they can handle - the higher and longer their flight and rapture lasts...

About the Artist

Rezvaya.art
Born in 1943 in Alma-Ata, USSR.
My mother - Klaudia Osheva, a professional artist, hence from my early years I got grips of what a magic of creativity means.
Graduated from the University, specialising in German-Roman philology. But extensive travel, meeting people and exploration of nature were provoking me to reflect it with the means of fine art. So I got the second education - Odessa College of Arts "Grekovka". Started to exhibit while studying at the college. It was followed by numerous local, nationwide, All-Soviet Union and international exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1986.
Living and working in the UK since 1998***.
My creative credo: any work of art should charge the viewer with positive energy - aesthetic, intellectual, emotional. Touch with any art should enrich the viewer, "to add, not to subtract". This on my opinion is its main task.
Preferred media - oil on canvas. Preferred genre - figurative art, compositions of "more than one approach". Figurative compositions demand knowledge of the whole spectre of genres - portraits, landscapes, still-life, - only then your fantasy is not restricted by any inner barriers. I worked in graphics, ceramics, murals and as a theatrical designer when I was invited as an art-director and costume designer for several productions of Odessa Drama Theatre.
Paintings - in the private collections in dozens of countries of the World, from Japan and Australia to Europe and both coasts of the USA, including two portraits at the collection of the Royal Geographical Society, London.
*** If you are residing in the UK and would like to view my works in flesh, you are welcome to visit me in Bournemouth, Dorset.

AN OCEAN RACE

There's nothing more liberating and exhilarating than living life on the sea waves.

Passionate people live in their own orbits. At some points, they intersect with the orbits of routine life but again return to their worlds to which they belong and where they really LIVE. Yachting is a world of space, waves, sun and wind, a world of sometimes harsh and unforgiving elements, a world of exciting delight, movement, speed, distant horizons, and freedom.

FOGGY MORNING IN CHRISTCHURCH DORSET

The landscape was painted in Dorset, on the South coast of England.

There is a refined beauty in the early Fall foggy mornings, in its tranquillity and serenity, its delicate colours of luxurious Autumn palette of Nature, doubled in the calm waters of rivers, canals and lakes...
In this painting, I aimed to capture the serene and mysterious ambience of a foggy morning by the waterfront. The soft haze blurs the lines between the boats and the water, instilling a sense of calm and introspection. The gentle play of light and shadow through the fog evokes a feeling of quiet solitude. This piece reflects moments of stillness and the beautiful, subtle interplay of nature and human presence, perfect for bringing tranquillity to any space.

About the Artist

GordRussellArt
Born in Alberta, Canada.
Exhibitor in North Shore Chicago Art Fair circuit, 2000, 2001.
Winner of 2 awards in sculpture.

I have a background in music, playing in rock bands (one with Mike Reno of Loverboy) and years later earned my certification in studio audio production.

My journey from a young artist winning a prize for a portrait of Daniel Boone as a kid to a rock musician, then to physiotherapist, and then to a sculptor and painter, is one of passion. Two of my patients suggested that I discover a new passion in sculpture, and my travels to Italy further ignited that passion. In less than a year I created 14 classic sculpture statuettes, made casts and won two awards in my first year of the art fair circuit.
I had to move two years later and lost my place to sculpt and returned to my music roots to pursue audio recording, mostly of my own songs. I transitioned from sculpture to painting, and even incorporated bas relief sculpture into my paintings. My unique style of depicting musicians performing live on stage, drawing from my own experiences as a musician, adds a personal and authentic touch to my artwork.
My hope for my artwork is to inspire aspiring musicians and evoke nostalgia for those experienced ones. Art, like music, has the power to touch people’s hearts and minds, and I want to continue creating and sharing my passion with the world.

I take COMMISSIONS. I can paint or do a charcoal image of anyone or any thing you want, whether it's your favourite star, your pet, or you or your family.
