A Near Miss

Reminiscent of a Van Gogh seascape, this Acrylic canvas depicts a sea in France with four boats on shore and a few sailboats in the distance.
The artist loves the sea and sailed alone at UC Berkeley; her speed was quite astonishing until she hit a swell. The rest is history.

With Climate Change now, the sea and ocean tides are quite changeable;and water evaporation can be hazardous to marine life.

In addition, asteroids often come close to planets without much warning.

["Le Petit Prince" was not on this one....]

Frieda's Prints and Cards
Frieda W. Zolan, artist, educator, parent and grandparent, studied with Carol DuChamp (parisienne born descendant from a famous Impressionist) and former teacher watercolorist/jazz singer Julie Cohn who was educated at her student's Alma Mater. Both artists have had extensive showings in museums and galleries. Victor Martinez, famous Latin American Artist, commended her card design when his daughter received a painting of Dumbo. Frieda was born in 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota (land of 10,000 lakes). She is the daughter of sculptor and oil artist Annetta Diamond Winnick (OBM) and Softball Hall of Famer Klink Winnick (OBM). Her maternal grandfather was asked to be Governor of the State of MN by northerners in the state. She is an honorary member of the Dakota Sioux Tribe. Frieda attended UC Berkeley and has a Graduate Degree in Education and the Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan.

“When I paint there is a direct correlation between my artwork and I. It is often motivated by G-d, my people, nature, politics and internal inspiration." A few of my paintings were given to Senator Ted Kennedy (OBM), Representative Lynn Woolsey, President Bill and Senator Hilary Clinton, President Carter, and friends as well as family.
