About the Artist
Paintings by John Lautermilch
John Lautermilch is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. His interest in art began in early childhood, and by the age of eight, he began painting. John won his first art show while still in elementary school, and by the time he was in high school, his art was being displayed and sold in local restaurants.

After high school, John attended the School of Fine Arts at Washington University on a scholarship. The year he graduated, his work was accepted by the St. Louis Art Museum for exhibit in their annual show.

Throughout his career, John has won numerous awards and prizes in various art shows. He has also done many commissioned works both for individual collectors and institutions, including a series of paintings for a Lutheran organization in St. Louis. He held an exhibit of water lily paintings at the Missouri Botanical Garden and is now represented at Componere Art Gallery in St. Louis.

Artist Statement
I am fascinated by the color, light patterns, and variety found in nature–particularly with respect to water lilies. One can spend a life time and never come close to capturing the beauty and tranquility found in the natural world. I feel blessed to have the time to look so deeply into the life around me and hope to share that feeling with you through my paintings.

About the Artist
Annie Lane Folk Art
I am a self taught artist. I believe that art is from oneself and should not be directed by anyone's rules or techniques. I have created my own style through my own journey of learning. I do not follow the standard rules with painting or marketing of my work. My resume does not consist of showings, group memberships or degrees. I just paint. I feel that the true success of my work is shown through actual sales. I have sold over 500 paintings in the five years that I have been painting.

In my life I have moved through many different phases. I have worked with oils, acrylics and pastels. I have painted, sculpted and built with many abstract materials, but art had always been a sideline. In the year 2000, my husband and moved from the city to a totally "Green" solar and wind powered home on 40 acres in Northern Arizona. We immersed ourselves in the farm life, self sustained living and my dream of being a professional artist. For the next 6 years we owned a shop where we successfully sold antiques and my artwork. You will see the influence of my antiqueing years in my work.
We have since closed the shop to allow me to focus fully on my paintings without distraction. I am now a full time artist and have been selling my paintings mainly on the internet. Thanks to this world wide access, my paintings are now in many homes across the country and worldwide, featured on fun and functional products and offered on hand painted needlepoint canvases.

Thanks for taking the time.....

Annie Lane

Cookie #2

Description

This original acrylic painting was done from a photo of my friend's dog Cookie. I tried to paint it in such a way that it was reduced to interlocking simple shapes while still showing the dog. The color scheme is a complimentary avoidance of anything too red or too green.
About the Artist
Bruce Bodden
I was a Fine Arts Major at UW-Oshkosh, where I had a double emphasis: Drawing and Applied Design. The drawings that I did were mostly charcoals or oil pastels. Applied or Functional Design was building wooden furniture. I enjoyed Ceramics as well. My pots and vases that I threw on the wheel looked good and were nicely glazed, but they were very fat at the bottom...the professor said that the cats couldn't tip them over. I wanted to major in something that I could do after school anyway, and you don't need much equipment for drawing.

After college I worked in the furniture restoration field, so I still had access to a woodworking shop. I currently work in an antique store in the restoration department, and so I still have access to more tools than I can have at home.

I like to do oil pastels, acrylic paintings, furniture and marquetry. And lately, all those things are starting to combine together in the same piece. Since I have the skills to do woodworking, I prefer to make all of my frames for my work, sometimes I even enjoy making frames more than the artwork itself.

I did art shows, mostly in Wisconsin, for nine years, but stopped when I started my current job. However, I did an art show this summer, and plan on doing more in future years. I never stopped making my art, as it is my main recreation outside of work.

I prefer my painting to be a development of ideas rather than static images and often use different styles to achieve this. The life that goes on around me, the places I’ve been, or the times I’ve lived through are reflected in my paintings, and my work has always helped me refine self awareness, and provided an outlet for expression

Catnaissance

Description

The painting depicts a ginger cat in a style reminiscent of Rembrandt's artwork. The cat is captured mid-yawn, giving the scene a dynamic character. The sharp contrasts of light and shadow in the chiaroscuro technique highlight the details of the fur, the contours of the face, and the shape of the open mouth, adding depth and realism to the image. The background is dark and subtly textured, emphasizing the cat as the central focus of the painting. Warm, golden tones of the fur harmoniously contrast with the deep shadows, creating an atmosphere of elegance and mystery typical of Dutch masterworks.

Abstract Painting Mallorca

Description

Dreams in Mallorca. Mallorca is an amazing island with endlessly beautiful landscapes. When you enjoy the beauty of the island during the day, then at night you will have beautiful colorful dreams.
The abstraction contains the colors of Ukraine - yellow and blue, from where I moved to Mallorca and Spain - red and yellow. All this is closely intertwined in my life and in my dream and in the painting.
colorful abstract painting with white line, ultra fine detailed painting, metaphysical painting, swirling bright color lines

About the Artist
Avanesova Elena AVA
About me
My name is Elena Avanesova. I am a master of design and a psychologist with many years of experience, I use art therapy in my work, I am the author of the metaphorical cards “The Hero’s Path” and “Elemental Resource”, in which my creative potential first manifested itself.

These two deeply beloved professions and the place where I live - the picturesque island of Mallorca - are closely intertwined in my life and served as a source of inspiration for creating paintings.

The topic of my master's thesis in design was "Design of decorative panels in a traditional Mallorcan interior." Since then, I can’t stop developing more and more decorative panels and paintings for various interiors, made in different techniques.

The psychologist's many years of experience have also influenced the creation of paintings that will decorate not only your space, but will also have a beneficial effect on your emotional state, bringing bright colors and harmony into your life, becoming a source of inspiration and an inexhaustible resource.

Each painting has its own story and meaning, combines impressionism, abstraction, modern art and radiates a special energy.

I moved to Mallorca from Kyiv. When the war began in Ukraine, I was under great stress and my state, if translated into the language of art, was similar to the “Black Square”, where there is no place for joy and only hopeless darkness, from which there seemed to be no way out.

But the amazing island of Mallorca began to heal me with its natural harmony and beauty. Gradually, the colors of life began to appear in my “Black Square”, which I began to transfer to the paintings. I felt how this extraordinary island can bring life back and fill it with bright colors even in the darkest times. This is how the “Majorkatherapy” collection was born.

I hope that when you hang a painting from this collection in your home, it will fill you with endless resources and an “island” will appear in your home that will transport you to a world of beauty.

I apply paint to canvas only outdoors - in the garden or on the seashore. Therefore, each brushstroke is imbued with the natural healing resource of Mallorca, the sea and the wind, which you can have with your painting.

My paintings are:
-always only Mallorca
-always a touch of “mar y viento” (sea and wind)

All paintings are created digitally and then transferred to canvas.

I prefer my painting to be a development of ideas rather than static images and often use different styles to achieve this. The life that goes on around me, the places I’ve been, or the times I’ve lived through are reflected in my paintings, and my work has always helped me refine self awareness, and provided an outlet for expression
