About the Artist
James Ashton Studio
My name is James Ashton. I have a small creative arts studio located in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Being primarily self taught, I create mixed media pieces that explore a wide range of subject matter… from the mundane to the magnificent. I employ a variety of methods and materials, both conventional and non conventional, to produce imaginative paintings rooted in the worlds of surrealism and abstract expressionism.
All my original artwork is created by hand using traditional art materials. No computer assisted or digital production methods are used.
