Vintage still life with Tolkien's Elven runes, carved on a board

About the Artist
Sergey Lesnikov art
It is strange how fascinating old things are- old wood, old metal, craquelure cobweb of old varnish ... the way time worked on them. Perhaps as proof that Time is material, and has value in itself.
Once, looking at the massive hundred-year-old board from the old house, I imagined all those works on the wood panels, from icons to painting, which we never saw, that left, disappeared, lost in time. How could they look like? Then I came to idea to make such a thing, looking like a found artifact, with fragments of old painting on ancient piece of wood. So I have created it, and continue working now..
Additional technical education helps to find new and new technological solutions, and now every work is physically unique, because of the uniqueness of the key element - old wood, and because of the peculiarities of the process. Nowadays, when so many people are interested in medieval style, fantasy and pseudo-historical stories- from The Lord of the Rings to the Game of Thrones, such kind of works are interesting, aren’t they? Such as they could be, if they existed in reality and reached our days..
I'm always in search- of new approaches, new materials, sometimes with elements of old metal, and other. Sometimes I copy works of old masters, to be closer to the subject, but when I miss bright and clear colors - I relax, working in traditional painting..

Tasty Elegance

Description

This painting showcases a vibrant still life, featuring two bottles of wine set against a richly textured backdrop. One bottle stands tall, its dark glass glistering under the ambient light, while the other bottle lies on its side, inviting the viewer's eye to follow its sleek contour.
Surrounding the bottles are a single fruit and a delicate wine glass, catching the light and adding depth to the composition.
The use of bold colours and dynamic brushstrokes infuses the scene with energy and warmth, celebrating the elegance and allure of fine wine.

About the Artist
Eva Bazhenova's Gallery
I am an Artist living in England since 2003. I come here to study Interior Design and have obtained my degree from Birmingham City University. However, my natural artistic skills turned my life direction into the Art World.

My desire to become an artist likely stems from a combination of innate passion, personal experiences, and a deep-seated need for self-expression. From a young age, I have felt a natural inclination towards creative expression, finding joy and fulfillment in activities like drawing, painting, or sculpting. Becoming an artist could be a way for me to explore and define my sense of self. Creating art allows me to communicate my unique perspective and worldview, shaping my identity as an individual.

Naturmort with grapes and tomatoes

Description

Best grapes from my garden: pink ones and dark muscat grapes, both were so delicious this year, as summer was like a gift giver, it started in May and ended only in mid September.
But those grapes were on our home table already in August, which was not the case years before. Small cherry tomatoes came from the greenhouse of the neighbor, who brought them to us. They all looked so beautiful, that I decided to stop the time with them on this nice Ducth plate.

About the Artist
Artland Gallery
My name is Enn Kaljo, I am from Estonia. I am painting since my very young age, drawing pictures came first, then learning to write letters and read them.
I started to earn with my paintings since I was around 24 years old. And I had one period of my life where painting was my source of income for almost a decade.
Now I have been retired from some works and I decided to return back to my gift that I have since birth, using photography and travels in many countries to help to create these pieces of art.
I have been working as a book translator and have been translating 14 books, most of them spiritual ones.
Currently I am also very proud about my skills of gardening and what I have learned in that field. It helps to witness wonders of Nature and what God has created there.
Turning select photos into pieces of art was always my dream. As technology advances, this has become possible and here it is, before you now, in different dimensions.

Oh My Darlin'

Description

The original is a small 5 x 7 inch watercolor. I do not recommend a large print for this.

I tried to capture the beauty of the light shining on and through the clementine. I believe I did capture some of the translucent quality.

About the Artist
Jeff Atnip Art
I have the most experience with watercolor, but I keep experimenting with other mediums. I love sunlit surfaces, reflected light, shadows and contrasts. I also enjoy depicting weathered textures, trees and old structures.

I have won some awards over the years and been accepted into juried shows, but I have mostly neglected this pursuit in favor of raising a family, working a day job and selling paintings.

I prefer my painting to be a development of ideas rather than static images and often use different styles to achieve this. The life that goes on around me, the places I’ve been, or the times I’ve lived through are reflected in my paintings, and my work has always helped me refine self awareness, and provided an outlet for expression

There was something tender and sweet about the delicate way the tips of these branches brushed against each other, like blushing newlyweds. I used softer colors and a limited palette for these expressive purposes.

About the Artist
Nancy Gregg Fine Art
For Nancy, making something of her natural gifts has meant the pursuit of a variety of art forms over the years, but now that she has retired from a lifetime of teaching, she is devoting herself full time to her early love—painting.

Nancy’s subject matter ranges from landscapes to florals to figures and animals, but all are imbued with a contemporary sense of vibrant, glowing color. Of course, all of the artistic elements play a role in her paintings, but the most important are color and light, which is why she naturally gravitated to an impressionistic style.

Yet, Nancy’s techniques are thoroughly modern and quite unusual. She typically paints with either a palette knife or her fingers, reserving the use of brushes for her signature only when absolutely necessary. Playing on the same optical effect of the original impressionists—the way our eyes visually blend distinct colors when seen at a distance, yet enjoy the mosaic of colors when seen up close—Nancy tends to apply notes of pure color, sometimes straight from the tube. She often applies her paints in layers, allowing each layer to dry in order to prevent the colors from mixing with additional layers of fresh paint, which can dull the vivid hues if not handled carefully. Extensive color tests performed before she starts each painting allow her to determine how the colors are going to “get along.”

Nancy can still remember the moment she realized the power of color. She was about four years old, lying on the floor, coloring with crayons, and she mixed turquoise and pink. She was so elated at the effect she’d discovered that she ran to show her drawing to her grandmother. Nancy’s parents filled their home with reproductions of fine art, and many others in her life encouraged the young girl’s growing interest in painting and drawing, especially her high school art teacher, Andre Krupe, who taught students to work in every medium and style.

Somewhere along the line, however, music also captured Nancy’s heart, and she “threw her heart and soul into it.” She became an instrumental music teacher in the public school system. During her second year of teaching, she also earned certification to teach computer courses, and since relatively few teachers had this ability, Nancy was often called upon to teach these courses. She tried to make the best of it, but she missed teaching music so terribly that she couldn’t even listen to it. During these periods, she turned to art as a creative outlet.

Hungry to explore all that art had to offer, Nancy experimented with many different media, devoured all the art books she could find, and practiced various techniques and styles of painting over the years. She was serious about educating herself in art since she could picture a second career as an artist after retiring from teaching. During this process, she came across books by Lois Griffel and Susan Sarback, which sparked something in her. A fortuitous meeting with an artist named Kevin Liang at a local art show inspired her to delve even deeper into her passion for color. Through a number of art workshops with the teachers and guides she “had wished for,” Nancy discovered what’s known as the Cape Cod School of (impressionist) Art, which gave her the foundation in color theory she still uses today. Further exploration brought her to the artwork of finger painter Iris Scott and to the workshop of Kimberly Adams.

In recent years, Nancy has set an intriguing and rewarding challenge for herself: to combine her two loves—the traditional techniques and four-step process of the Cape Cod School and the newer finger painting techniques—into a style that is uniquely her own. She adds, “Usually, my smaller pieces are done with a knife and the Cape Cod method, and my larger works are finger paintings. I still use layers in my finger paintings, but ultimately, I’m not sure where I’ll end up. With each painting, I’m learning new things and trying new techniques.”

About the Artist
Paintings by John Lautermilch
John Lautermilch is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. His interest in art began in early childhood, and by the age of eight, he began painting. John won his first art show while still in elementary school, and by the time he was in high school, his art was being displayed and sold in local restaurants.

After high school, John attended the School of Fine Arts at Washington University on a scholarship. The year he graduated, his work was accepted by the St. Louis Art Museum for exhibit in their annual show.

Throughout his career, John has won numerous awards and prizes in various art shows. He has also done many commissioned works both for individual collectors and institutions, including a series of paintings for a Lutheran organization in St. Louis. He held an exhibit of water lily paintings at the Missouri Botanical Garden and is now represented at Componere Art Gallery in St. Louis.

Artist Statement
I am fascinated by the color, light patterns, and variety found in nature–particularly with respect to water lilies. One can spend a life time and never come close to capturing the beauty and tranquility found in the natural world. I feel blessed to have the time to look so deeply into the life around me and hope to share that feeling with you through my paintings.

BE MERLIN

Description

I've always been fascinated by Merlin and by the story of King Arthur. One day, sitting in a friend's kitchen in Dublin, Ireland, this sonnet came to me fully formed. The merlin is also a hawk (sometimes called the "pigeon hawk").

The artist, Charles Grignion the Elder, was a British engraver and draughtsman.

Grignion was born in London to Huguenot refugees. He was a prolific historical engraver and book illustrator.

Not to be confused with his nephew Charles Grignion the Younger, who was born in 1754. The nephew, in turn, became a history and portrait painter.

Art direction by Unangst.

About the Artist
The Internet Bard
I am a poet, playwright, and musician. My sonnets and other verse have appeared in the NY Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and in other newspapers and in small press magazines.

It has long been my belief that individual poems can and perhaps should be displayed as works of art. When I discussed this idea with my friend of many years, Andrew Unangst, he offered to pair some of my efforts with his photography. I was delighted with the results. So, we have launched this e-gallery.

At one time, Andrew Unangst was considered the most successful photographer in New York City. His photos have appeared everywhere, including the cover of Time magazine. His portraits of Andy Warhol and Stephen King are famous. One graces the cover of Warhol's Diaries.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Unangst Studio became a salon for superstar talents. In addition to King and Warhol, authors Ira Levin, Peter Straub, Terry Southern and others were fixtures. Painter Larry Rivers was a regular, as was movie director Oliver Stone. Photographer Peter Beard camped out so long he started receiving his mail there. I was the house poet. It was a scene, and now it's an amazing memory for those of us still living.

The wall art in this e-gallery is unique! Who else is offering poems paired with pictures? We use the minimum pricing suggested by Artpal.com for the unsigned prints. After fees and so forth, we split a little less than 20% of the purchase price on most items. We want you to have something of ours hanging in your home or place of business. That's as important as money.

However, we do get 100% of the sales price on our limited edition signed prints. So, serious art collectors (and manuscript collectors? ) please take note! Also, when a signed limited edition sells out (9 numbered pieces), we will discontinue sales of ALL versions of that poetry print, increasing the value for everyone.

I believe these sonnets (and other poetry, eventually) can inspire and entertain you, perhaps more than a wordless work of art. Hopefully, we bring some light to the world, provoke a smile or chuckle, or reveal new avenues for thought or meditation. How many other wall hangings do that?

Each piece is different. We will be delighted when you choose one that suits your taste. Every piece is a conversation starter, for sure!

10% of any and all money paid to us will be donated to our favorite charity: St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Many of the pieces here will include my sonnets and Unangst's art compositions and photographs. Some include art from the public domain paired with a poem. Andrew Unangst also does the art direction and design for all the pieces.

Most of my sonnets are written with a unique rhyme scheme developed by me. The first 12 lines rhyme towards the middle couplet, with a couplet at the end. The NY Times was the first place my poetry was published, in 1978. It was the sonnet Envelope Full of Champagne. Unangst is working on the artwork and layout so we can offer it here. For the next 9 years, until 1987, my sonnets and haiku and other light verse frequently appeared in the Times.

Reputation is everything in the world of art. Poets are always decades ahead of visual artists. This means the long-term value of these works is enhanced exponentially. Whether you buy one of our limited edition prints for thousands of dollars or make a less expensive choice, you can rest assured that you are purchasing an heirloom-quality artwork that will increase in value as it is passed from generation to generation.

We will upload new offerings at least monthly, if not more frequently. Please check back often.

No one appreciates a patron more than a poet. I will be so honored to know that you chose to adorn the walls of your home with my poetry. It's all about the Word, philosophy, and Love ❤️

Thank you so much for your interest in poetry as art. It is quite gratifying.

Elephant Morning

Description
In the crisp morning air, an Indian/Asian family gathers around a large outdoor fire, steam rising from their simple breakfast and hot drinks. The two women, wrapped in colorful serapes, stand close for warmth, while the man gently leads an elephant near the flames. The sky glows with scattered clouds in hues of gold and lavender. The scene radiates quiet purpose—here, the elephant is not just a helper but a cherished part of the family’s daily rhythm.

About the Artist
Hummingbird
My approach to the visual arts mirrors the music of Ludovico Einaudi—unhurried, contemplative, and at times melancholic, yet always filled with gratitude for the experience. This sense of quiet reflection shapes my artistic vision, allowing slow, deliberate visions to unfold, much like the ebb and flow of a poignant melody.
