Social media blooms from the immediate satisfaction and comfort of "Likes". It also branches into the dark realm of what is seen as an "attractive appearance". Models and advertisements on TV, social media, and magazines mainly portray and idolize Eurocentric standards of beauty. There is pain in looking at people online who only promote a certain part of society. Media moguls and companies with the finances to prevent the appeal of darker skin, curly hair, and non-white features are powerful. In this piece, I hope to show that beauty comes in all shades and should all be represented.
